Louis Vuitton – From The 1986 to Cruise 2012:
Saumur Bag Comes Back!
Louis Vuitton presents the Saumur Flore bag, a reinterpretation of an iconic bag of the House from the ’80 and revisited in the 2012 Cruise collection in supple and playful perforated leather and bright colours or in perforated Monogram canvas for a retro-chic style of an American girl in Paris.
The Saumur bag was born in 1986 and was inspired by the “sac gibier”, a bag created in 1964 by Louis Vuitton for hunters to carry clothes and games. As the shape of the bag recalls the saddle bags of a horse rider, it was named after the French city, Saumur, well-known for its horse-riding school and its prestigious stables.
The Saumur Flore bag reinterprets perfectly Sofia free spirit. Sofia Coppola was the Muse of the Cruise 2012 Collection and inspired the Studio for this elegant and feminine collection which reflects perfectly the retro-chic style of an American tourist strolling in Paris.
The perforation in the Saumur Flore bag reminds fishnets pattern from the 60’s and brings femininity and lightness to the bags.
