Special Report: Burberry Fall 2012

Christopher Bailey’s Fall 2012 collection was designed for the girl who is going on an English countryside get-a-way. The collection kept in tact lots of Burberry’s classic signature elements such as menswear inspired fabrics like herringbone and tweed as well as some down-to-earth silhouettes. Overall, the collection was chic and feminine. The designers got a little more playful when it came to the skirts, which were adorned with ruffles and bows. The styles were amazingly flattering as well, the waists were cinched in and curvy hips were accentuated with a key trend this season: peplums. The designer said he was going for a “downtown Abbey-meets-downtown mix” and we certainly feel that this collection was another success to add to Burberry’s reputation. He is amazing at taking staple Burberry styles and revamping them into something very modern.
