Model Report: Number Ones

I think the models that strut down the runway at fashion week are just as gorgeous as the designs they wear. As the world’s fashion weeks are in full swing, let’s take a look at some of the models that have made their way down the runway in Fall 2012’s hottest trends.

Sasha Pivovarova

Birthday: January 21, 1985
From: Moscow, Russia

Sasha began modeling in 2005 when a friend of hers introduced her to the IMG modeling agency in New York. Her debut was during fall fashion week in Milan, opening the Prada show. She soon became the bright, beautiful face of Prada. She continued to work for them, having an exclusive contract for three years. Sasha is married to Igor Vishnyakov. Recently, Sasha appeared in “In Time” with Justin Timberlake and designed a sleepwear collection for the Gap, which hit the shelves in December 2011.

Freja Beha Erichsen

Birthday: October 18, 1987
From: Roskilde, Denmark

An agent passing by in a taxicab discovered Freja in Denmark. She made her debut in 2005, during Paris and Milan’s fall shows. She modeled for Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu that season. She has walked runways in New York, Paris, Milan, and London and she has done work for Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Prada, Balmain, Balenciaga, Christian Lacroix, Zac Posen, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin, and Versace. She has also done advertising campaigns for Balenciaga, Jil Sander, Gucci, Harry Winston, Georg Jensen, Hugo Boss, H&M, Hermes and many others. She became the face of Calvin Klein’s fragrance IN2U and of Valentino’s fragrance Valentina.

Natasha Poly

Birthday: July 12, 1985
From: Perm, Russia

Born as Natasha Poleyshchikova, now known as Natasha Poly was born in Perm, Russia is one of the “it” models for editorial and advertising work. She made her modeling debut in 2004 and has done extensive work for Gucci, Givenchy, Lanvin, Missoni, and Jil Sander. She is known for her adaptability and signature runway walk and pose. She is married to Dutch businessman Peter Bakker.

Edita Vilkeviciute

Birthday: January 1, 1989
From: Lithuania

Edita made her runway debut for Just Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2007 show. She has continued to work for Paul Smith, Preen, Mario Schwab in London, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dries van Noten, Miu Miu, and Louis Vuitton. She has participated in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows. She’s been on the cover of Vogue in Germany and France, Allure, and i-D. Currently, she is the face of Karl Lagerfeld, Gap in Japan, Dior Beauty and Emporio Armani.

Lara Stone

Birthday: December 20, 1983
From: Netherlands

Lara Stone was discovered in the Paris Metro when she was 12. She began working in editorials and advertising campaigns after she signed with IMG in 2006. Lara is not one for modeling on the runways as her feet are oddly small for a woman her size and so the shoes are usually too big for her. Lara Stone was on Models.com #1 on the Top 50 List in February 2010.

Mariacarla Boscono

Birthday: September 20, 1980
From: Rome, Italy

Mariacarla Boscono is an Italian supermodel. She spent her childhood living in both America and Africa and has also been involved in some theater work. She was discovered at the age of 17 during dinner with a family friend who was also a photographer. After graduating high school, Mariacarla flew to New York and signed with DNA Model Management and soon became one of Karl Lagerfeld’s favorites. Mariacarla has done work for Chanel, Givenchy, YSL, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and many others.

Bianca Balti

Birthday: March 19, 1984
From: Lodi, Lombardy, Italy

Bianca Balti first appeared in an advertisement campaign for Dolce and Gabbana and has also appeared on the covers of some of the most noted fashion magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, Cosmopolitan, and Marie Claire. She has also done campaigns for Roberto Cavalli, Donna Karan, Christian Dior, Valentino, and many more. She appeared in fashion shows for Victoria’s Secret, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQeen, Hermes, and many more.

Lily Donaldson

Birthday: January 27, 198
From: United Kingdom

Lily Donaldson was born and raised in London, English and is the daughter of a photographer. She was the face of both Gucci and Burberry and has done lots of editorial work for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Isabeli Fontana

Birthday: July 4, 1983
From: Brazil

Isabeli is from the south of Brazil and knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a model. That dream was fulfilled when she made it to the finals in a local modeling contest. Isabeli has been the face of 5 major campaigns and has made 3 appearances in the Pirelli Calendar.

Julia Stegner

Birthday: November 2, 1984
From: Germany

Julia Stegner made her first cover appearance for French Elle and continued to sign with Supreme Management. She has done shows for YSL and been the face of Celine, YSL, Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, and Dior. She has appeared on the cover of French, Italian, Nippon, and German Vogue.
