Structured and 3D Silhouettes

This season we can’t seem to avoid those structured shoulders, peplum skirts and 3D flowers popping out on our catwalks.

One of the most flattering and figure defining trends of this Spring/Summer season. The structured shoulders help balance out those pear shapes among us, the peplum skirt can create curves on the most boyish of figures, whilst the 3D folds are able to disguise those un-wanted tummy issues. A trend suited to all of our needs.

Designers such as Zac Posen, Balmain, Jean Paul Gaultier and Vera Wang embrace this structured silhouette, choosing blazers with strong, clean cuts and pencil skirts helping to define the structure. This look has a strong 80’s feel with the big shoulder pads, but ladies we love what it is doing to our figures!

The peplum skirt was popular amongst designers like Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Christian Dior. Its one of the most sought after looks of this season, with the designers inspiring us to ‘create’ or ‘hide’ those hips.

Equally as popular on the catwalks is the 3D flowers or panels seen in collections like Givenchy, Alexander Mcqueen and Nina Ricci. They have incorporated an explosion of petals or panels in to their garments, creating an aura of depth, femininity and seduction to the catwalks.

This look is one of our favourites this season, so why not throw on a blazer with that skirt, a peplum skirt or top for that night out, or invest in some eye-popping flowers for that special occasion? Trust us, you wont regret it!
