debuted succesfully at NY Fashion Week

The French design house has opened a diffusion boutique on Bleecker Street and will hold a show each season going forward, a spokesman told me. (The shop is the world’s only freestanding MM6 store until it launches a second in Paris this winter.) MM6 presented a deconstructed military line expressed through undone neck bindings, inside-out dart details. It’s a raw-edged reinterpretation, an attitude of enlargement; think parachute volumes, bonded silks, turned-up hems, cinching and criss-crossed drawstrings. Leather, clear PVC and faux denim textures added dimension and weight.
