The Top 5 guys everyone is talking about
1) Dan Stevens, “Mr nice guy”
Mathew Crawley in “Down Town Abbey”
Matthew Crawley, Stevens makes post-Edwardian England look good—but we’re also fans of his 2013 style. In real life, Stevens is as impressive as Crawley: The Cambridge grad writes for Britain’s Sunday Telegraph, judged last year’s Man Booker Prize, and is now on Broadway in The Heiress.
Oh, and he’s also a doting father of two who has date nights with his wife. Which isn’t to say he’s all nicey-nice. Stevens calls his DA character “a bit too straight down the line… I hope I differ from him in that sense.”
2) Austin Butler, “The music lover”
Actor, The Carrie Diaries, 21 The dreamy Butler plays Sebastian Kydd, young Carrie’s crush in the new Sex and the City prequel series. But when he’s not on set, Butler records tunes in his home studio.
“I love music from the sixties and seventies, like the Beatles,” he says. And in spite of the James Dean hair here, he’s anything but a bad guy; “My biggest pet peeve is when people aren’t nice to waiters,” he says. Looks like girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens picked a good one.
3) Victor Cruz, “The sexy one”
Wide receiver, New York Giants, 26 Sweet, giving, humble—yep, we’re describing an NFL superstar. But seriously, get a load of Cruz’s résumé: He’s famous for dancing the salsa in the end zone; he’s been with his girlfriend for 10 years (their secret: “Tell each other everything!”); and he adores their baby girl, Kennedy.
Cruz also designs a clothing line, Young Whales, and runs a foundation that helps underprivileged kids, fire departments, and cancer victims. (Plus, you gotta love an athlete who’s willing to be photographed in a toy store.) “I want to be a vessel of positivity,” he says.
4) Taran Killam, “The funny guy”
Comedian, Saturday Night Live, 30 Killam’s parodies of Brad Pitt’s Chanel commercials kill. As do his impressions of Michael Cera and singer Robyn—belly-baring fuzzy sweater and all. So we can’t wait to catch him in April’s comedy flick The Heat.
Killam and movies have a happy history: His first date ever was seeing Jurassic Park; movie nights with his wife, actress Cobie Smulders, are a must; and the cinema in this picture is his own lucky theater: “I saw The Expendables here just before I got the call from Seth Meyers offering me a job on SNL.” Couldn’t have scripted it better.
5) Ethan Peck, “Mr Stylish”
Actor, 26 Peck, who recently did a swoon-inducing short film for Louis Vuitton, gets our vote for Most Determined to Be on Time. The grandson of Gregory Peck braved Superstorm Sandy to fly to NYC for his shoot at The Standard hotel.
His room, shown here, was on the sixteenth floor, and “you could feel the building swaying,” he says. But if anyone can look dashing during a storm, it’s Peck. His ideal girl: “Someone with passion.” And maybe a chef. “I like to cook, so I could meet someone at the farmer’s market.”
