We are having a Bad Hair Day

We are off duty this season when it comes to our hairstyles; as rough, tousled and uneven are all the rage on our catwalks. An array of designers have deliberately laid off the hair grooming and focused their attention elsewhere, with jewelled eyes, over the top jewellery and the flash of skin.

Sporting the tousled waves, with rough centre partings for a more Rock’n’Roll and edgy look are Roberto Cavalli and Stella McCartney, whilst Derek Lam also relaxes the look with loose waves, however with the sleek side parting instead. This is a favourable trend this season, giving us those extra few minutes in bed!

Up-dos were given a more; easy feel too, with Paul Smith incorporating the messy ballerina bun, twisted upwards with pins and twists, almost a feeling that they did it themselves. Similarly, Chloe and Marni jumped on the ‘messy do’ band wagon, with twisted, textured and tousled braids.

Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli embraced this trend, in order not to overpower their statement make up and accessories. Dior made the contrast from his dramatic, jewelled eye make up with simple, nonchalant and easy to do hairstyles. While Valli highlighted the flawless nude makeup with dual textured hair, slicked back to the crown, loose and matte throughout.

Luckily for us, the hair do this catwalk season…is to leave it alone!
