lookbook.nu x azalea sf

Unif Threadbare Tank and Leopard Print Bra / Stylestalker Leggings / Moto Jacket courtesy of Nasty Gal / Deadstock Vintage Sunglasses / Tiger of Sweden Bag

Hi guys! I would absolutely love your support for the Lookbook.nu x Azalea SF contest I’ve entered. From all the Lookbook.nu contests I’ve entered, this contest by far has been one of the most meaningful one to me up-to-date. I’ve been attending Project Tradeshow since 2009 thanks to my friends at UNIF (an amazing brand and an even more amazingly busy booth during the show), and since the beginning I’ve been in awe of the production. How so many influential tastemakers, personalities and creative individuals can be gathered together in one city let alone room is truly a work of its own. Project Tradeshow has played a major force of inspiration for me to continue the path of pursuing my dream to work in a creative industry.

Each ‘like’, tweet, re-post and even the short few seconds you take to take a glance at my entry already means the world to me. Thank you so much to everyone who read up to the bottom of this post, and hope that you will join me in support, to have a small voice in what at times feels like a large and daunting industry. To vote, follow the instructions listed on the link HERE. Thank you all in advance!

style stalking: miroslava duma

Citizen Couture / Street Peeper / Jak & Jil / Stockholm Streetstyle / Street Fsn / Google Images

I’m sure you have already seen photos of the street style queen Miroslava Duma all over the internet, but she’s a reoccurring favorite of mine for one particular reason: she’s petite! Aside from her impeccable style, enviable wardrobe and charming looks, she’s the one street style figure I can relate to. Physically anyway. I can’t help but wonder how frequently the word “cute” is tossed around her. (Note: file under #shitpeoplesaytoshorties). Granted, I am more than happy to take her hand-me downs any day. Say goodbye to the next thirty minutes of your life by visiting her blog: Buro 24/7.

pastel color blocking

Lulu’s Pastel Two Toned Blouse / Top Shop Pants / DSquared Heels / Willis Bag courtesy of Coach

Although sometimes I fear to fall as a victim of a stereotype, and in this case, a stereotype that has more shoes than sense (and cents too, for that matter) and one that walks to and fro an alley in both directions, knowing what you like and what you feel comfortable in is essential to one’s personal style, especially since it’s so easy to get swept up in the latest trends and fads. Personally I didn’t wear much color from age fourteen to sixteen, instead, I preferred to dress in pleather, leather, band tee’s and self-studded jackets. A few years later and a more obvious style evolution, presently the majority of my closet is anything but. Pastel and nude tones for the past few seasons has been my comfort zone. Only time will tell if it will remain so. And although I normally shy away from anything that’s not neutral or black when it comes to hand bags, re-interpreted release of the Willis bag I received at the Coach Blogger dinner last week proves to be a great exception. Thanks Coach! xo

my teen vogue bedroom feature

Let’s get one thing straight: I’ve been a Teen Vogue reader since I was twelve, so imagine my excitement when I get an e-mail from one of the editors asking if she can come over my house to photograph my room. My automatic response was something in the lines of an ecstatic “Of course!” More accurately it was probably a lot more “California” than that and it came out as a series of fluster and a single coherent “Totally!” Fast forward two weeks later, my room is spic and span! Admittedly, it’s the most organized it’s been for weeks. In this interview segment with Teen Vogue, I get to share with you some of my most personal sentiments. This includes my record collection, my books, my mementos, my gifts from friends, and last but not least, my closet. And for a nostalgic moment, it was just last year I shared my first interview with Teen Vogue. Thank you to Naomi and Ye Rin for coming over to photograph me, and Casey Lewis for the kind words on the write-up. It all would’t have been possible with out you girls, so thank you! You can catch a glimpse of my bedroom here, I hope you guys like it.
