As we were running late for the third night of Concept Fashion Week, Michael and I decided to shoot these photos outside of The Hotel Wilshire right before whisking ourselves into a cab and being driven out to somewhere far, far away. Somewhere three blocks later. It felt completely foreign to check into a hotel that is demographically close to home, but the novelty of the entire experience and the hotel itself made it a curiosity worth satisfying. It was fun pretending to be tourists traveling on foot and cab and playing backseat driver for a day. It was the sort of experience that refreshes your eyes and enables you to see things that you normally overlook. A new angle on old streets. That, or perhaps I was just on a different side of town.
A huge thank-you to The Hotel Wilshire for the complimentary night! I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Lunch is just exponentially better when it’s on a rooftop lounge looking over a panoramic view of the Hollywood Hills.
