how to dress like lana del rey

I’m sure you’ve all heard of her by now, the husky voiced singer and nostalgic beauty behind the songs ‘Video Games‘ and ‘Born to Die‘. Despite a shoddy Saturday Night Live performance and questionable lip implants, one thing’s for sure: Lana (aka. Lizzie Grant) has some serious style. I’m dedicating today’s segment on “Blue Jeans” lady, Lana Del Rey. 1. T by Alexander Wang Collared Blouse-Lana Del Rey looks great in a button down. And the woman certainly knows it. Her style has quickly become eponymous with a clean, crisp blouse with a structured collar.
2. Gold Hoop Earrings-As they used to say in middle school, the bigger the hoops, the bigger the (h)o. Not really relevant, but just so you know…
3. Yves St. Laurent Rouge Volupte-This lipstick (as you all know by now) is my personal favorite, and the rich, peachy texture will guarantee you a bonafide sixties star pout.
4. Wildfox ‘Foxy’ Double Finger Ring-For those who aren’t feeling bad to the bone, foxy is a choice alternative.
5. Eyelash Curler-Thickening and lengthening lashes are key when recreating a nostalgic vintage ‘smoke signals’ look. An eyelash curler, on the other hand is far more low maintenance than falsies.
6. Mulberry ‘Del Rey’ Bag-Aptly named by the singer herself, is inspired by Lana’s style, which is a combination of “old school glamour” and “modern day muse”. The bag is scheduled to hit the Mulberry stores in May.
7. Heart Shaped Sunglasses-A little less Brooklyn and a little more of LA Lolita. Reference here.
8. Kenneth Jay Lane Necklace- Because you can’t be a “gangster Nancy Sinatra” without some chain gang bling.
9. Gold Tooth Cap-Inquire from your local dentist.
10. Collagen Lip Plumper-I’m not sure if this is some sort of joke or twisted coincidence, but there’s a line of lip plumpers by the licensing name of Elizabeth Grant. Which is ironic because Lana Del Rey’s former moniker is known as Lizzie Grant (back when she had noticeably thinner lips.)
11.  Alexander Wang Liya Heels-I like that Lana Del Rey’s style is a classicist with a little bit of edge. These shoes that trigger a Pavlovian response are just that.
12. Hervé Léger Skirt- Simple, sleek, and straight. Three components of LDR’s white on white uniforms.
