They’re both really nice, but if I had to choose I’d go for the one with the golden lining. I’m just really feeling the gold for the holidays.
After enjoying a nice, relaxing winter break with minimal socializing, a friend would invite me to her New Year’s party. I’d think about it, considering my options – my options being enjoying a lazy evening at home with my book (1Q84 by Haruki Murakami) and my TV and the internet and all the other wonderful things about life, vs. going to a loud and rowdy party with dancing and spilled beer and potentially awkward situations with near-strangers.
The choice seems obvious. I have a beautiful new dress that I need to show off somewhere, and ‘somewhere’ does not mean over Skype to another socially lazy friend. So I try my hardest to get myself dolled-up. Dress with gold lining, silvery cap-sleeve cardigan, translucent black tights, gold-hued oxfords, a golden locket that does not actually function as a locket but just a pretty trinket. Minimal makeup, since I am both lazy and clumsy with things more advanced than concealer and foundation and blush. Maybe paint my nails a crackled black with gold flecks, to highlight the whole ‘gold’ thing going on.
The party turns out to be surprisingly okay. More friends than strangers there, which means I don’t have to restrain myself from taking embarrassing photos of everyone with the DSLR that I always have with me always no matter what never go anywhere without it. There might even be a cute Asian guy (gotta please my parents) who somehow finds me charming and pretty, despite my creepy paparazzi skills and my cynical, anti-social tendencies.
“I love your dress,” he comments. “The gold really brings out the brown in your eyes.”
I question his logic and his smooth-talking abilities, but decide not to kill the potential romance. “Thank you,” I say with dignity. “It’s Gia London.”
…aaaand that’s what I’d do with this dress.
First of all, I definitely prefer the top dress. It is gorgeous and I love love love silver! After the long winter subsides in the American Midwest, I would probably wear it out with flats on the first beautiful spring day.
That is such a magical dress! I adore them and the photos are fantastic!
Have a very Merry Christmas dear!
It’s so hard to choose which one I like more T_____T. I love the first dress because of the tulle, but the gold trim on the second dress really attracts me haha. So after comparing the two dresses for about thirty minutes, I decided on the second dress!
I’ve been dying to find some dresses like these. They give off this princess feeling without going overboard. I don’t have any dresses in my closet, so it’d be lovely to have one. Honestly, I would style it just like you did–with a simple cardigan and some cute socks. Nothing more than that. I feel that the dress is casual enough to wear for everyday.
Thanks for hosting this giveaway, Mayo! <3

I would choose the boho dress because I can wear this with more things I have at home such as some jeans or pants underneath with an under shirt under the dress . I would wear this going to the mall , cinemas , cafe , anywhere outside of my house . I would wear it on any occasion since there wouldn’t have to be a special occasion to wear this . It would be great when traveling to a new place that is quite hot and tropical . I am in a hot place such as India so this would suit me well since it looks light and airy and looks to be made of light fabric . The print of the fabric reminds me of old tiles that use to belong in an antique styled home . They look like kitchen tiles . Or it could have belonged to an actress in the 1920s or 30s someone like Clara Bow who would wear this on the set of her movies or just a regular woman taking on walk .
Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays .

i love the Frenchie Dress!
page
It’s definitely dress number one for me! I’m a sucker for tulle:)
hopefully i get to wear it on a date night with husband for new year’s eve! I’ll probably pair it with some sequin-y jacket or a blazer of sorts to tone down the ballerina vibes of the dress:)
Hello! I would like to get the first dress. It is classy and fab, and it would go wonderfully with my dark hair and green eyes. And as for the occasion… next March I’m gonna get my PhD degree and I would wear for my PhD examination with a nice black sweater and black heels
Yes, I would – why not
It would be such fun not to look like a stereotyped con girl. Let all the professors see that nerdy girls can be stylish too and that dolled-up doesn’t mean dull!
I would love to have the diamond boho print chiffon dress. The first dress is more of my look since I have a petite frame, a dress with a bubbly skirt would fit me well. I can wear it on a lunch date with a wedge and a sun hat or on a date night with friends matching it with a leather jacket and booties. I also love to be dolled-up at Sunday, wearing it attending the Sunday mass and a stroll at the mall after.
i love the one with the tulle!!
i will most definitely wear the 1st one with bright popping colors! like with a yellow cambridge satchel and red shoes also with also a cute little straw hat!! the bright colors will be appropriate for summer ..walking along the boardwalk here in California.
Hello
And listen..I have a question – do your boyfriend/husband like your outfits? Because mine so so.. In fact the more I love my outfit and the more it’s original and stylish, the more my hubby looks at me weirdly
hehe I don’t know if it’s good but at least I know when I look good and fashion bloggers would approve!!
I prefer the diamond boho print chiffon dress. I’d wear it to my friend’s wedding next spring. I probably won’t look like other guests ( more “elegant” style wedding) but to people who knows me it won’t be really surprising
i like the first dress. i would wear it under a sheer button-down blouse, maybe in blue or purple. i also love stockings these days, what with the cold weather, so i would also wear black tights, plain or jazzed up~
i like the first one more because of the silhouette, i’m afraid i might drown in the second one! hehe i can dress it up by wearing my heeled gray oxfords (croc-pattern leather and suede), or dress it down with my off-white lace-infused oxfords
I love the one with the gold trim and it would be lovely to wear out to a full day shopping in the January sales and having lunch with the girls. I would wear it with some nice black booties or some coloured shoes with little black socks with a gold trim on them, and ny mew mauve coloured cardigan and maybe a little scarf to go with it. Some nice gold dangly earrings would finish it off nicely
I would go for the second chiffon dress with the gold trim and style it up really edgy to contrast how pretty and delicate it is.
Ankle platform boots and maybe knee socks with a cropped leather jacket – I need to re shoot my blog header in the new year so would love for this dress to accompany me on my shoot for that!
Merry Christmas (week) and happy new year to you Mayo and all at Gia! xx
I would definitely choose the top dress! I could see myself pairing it with my vintage light pink satin kitten heels and golden sweater. I would love to wear it walking through and enchanted forest and laying under a willow tree reading a good book. This may not be the most realistic day, but it certainly sounds wonderful to me!
Hai, I’ve like gia london at facebook
I prefer diamond boho print chiffon dress , I love this dress cause the tulle in bellow so cute and classic. I like a skirt or dress mix from tulle fabrics cause makes me like a ballerina and blowy in air and just because I’m skinny so i prefer choose this kind of dress make me see more full .Just simple I will mix that dress with leather jacket if it was at cold places, if there was summer i’ll mix it into my Vintage top like sleeveless crop top or something collar accent. Cause Metallic is IN i will wear something Headbands or necklaces made from metallic and don’t miss a pairs of Metallic oxford shoes or maybe wedges . Yeahh that’s my opinion if i have that diamond boho print chiffon dress i will mix it with…
Ooo yeah Cause my birthday ‘s near I decided to mix and wear this dress to my birthday party . Haha tulle dress with with something rock item nice huh??
Thanks Mayo and Gia

I love the first dress with the tulle! It’s definitely something I’d love to own. I think it’s a really versatile piece that you could wear regardless of season or occasion. I love the way you styled it above with the silver H&M top and I think that’s a more dressy look.
The first outfit I’d probably wear with the dress (although there are tons of possible combinations!) would be something similar to this polyvore set I’ve created: http://www.polyvore.com/gia_london_gone_out/set?id=41292996
I love the idea of taking a really feminine, airy piece and give it some roughness. I think pairing it with leather boots and buckle details with create a neat contrast. And I think include a splash of color (with nail polish and lip color) is the way to go. Definitely something I could see myself wearing out!
Hope I win! The dresses are beautiful. Oh! Also my Facebook name is Yasmeen Fahmy. I liked the page
Thank you for hosting this and happy new year! <3

Oh sorry I forgot to mention! I couldn’t find that exact dress on polyvore so I just used one that looks similar
I hope that’s okay~!
I think I like the first dress more:) I’d probably wear this to my fall graduation in May:) I’d pair it with my silver ballet flats (flats because graduates have a ceremonial march around the town centre, I’d love to wear heels with it but hmmmm.. haha)with a cute detail and wear some glittery socks with it. And probably a simple top with a nice collar. I’d wear the little necklace my mom gave me and to top it off I’d wear a large beaded bow just to make it cute and fun. The outfit will probably be covered with a toga but I’ll wear this dress with a smile no matter what (so cheesy! haha)
Happy New Year!

i have to say, they are both beautiful, but due to suitability for my frame i’d have to chose the grey and white dress. The metallic jumper looks beautiful and for a dressed down look i’d wear a cropped baggy jumper paired with some cute ballet pumps and ankle socks. I would chose a light maybe pastel colour, e.g lavender or pink. Also team it with an understated simple gold chain necklace and a classic watch like Michael Kors, with a lip to match the colour of a jumper and a light bronzed eye. This, I would wear maybe to the cinema or out shopping with my friends. For a more formal even, just replace the pumps with nude or light pink heels, and the jumper for a similar coloured cardigan.
For a party or a slightly ‘dressier’ event, I would go the complete opposite way and toughen it up with some leather! I’m thinking a cropped leather jacket, simple but with a few studded details. I would also team with Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s with bare legs. Chunky, short chain necklace (depending on whether I chose gold or silver accessories.) Makeup wise, i’d definitely add a pop of colour in the lips, with a vibrant red like mac ruby woo or russian red and simple black lined lid. Then i’d add a combination of tough yet simple rings, unless the look becomes overcrowded. This I would wear to any party for a different, stand-out look.
Sorry for giving two looks, but I just couldn’t pick between the them!! I think that shows why I should win as I have so many different ways of styling it, and would wear it to death! Its such a beautiful dress and deserves to be shown off in the best way possible!
Sorry! I forgot to mention that my surname is Anderson (you could probably see that from my email, lol) and I am on facebook and i’ve liked the page, aaaah I would love to win!
I like the second dress with golden lining more. As I do not have a pair of beautiful legs, I would wear a pair of tights in dark colours and a a short boots to match with this dress.
I’d like to have the first dress. I love the bohemian look and the pattern that both dresses have, but the tulle on the 1st one just looks so pretty. It’s the cherry on top of that dress. And there would be plenty of occasions for me to wear it. If I combine it with a cute cardigan (and the great thing is that, I think, any color will match it) and ankle boots, the outfit would be casual yet chic. It would be perfect for shopping or just taking a nice walk during the day. Combining it with a blazer and heels would create a more elegant look, although it would still be very girly and gleeful. In the summer, I would wear it with just some cute flats and maybe a hat in the same color as the shoes. I also think that a long necklace would look great with it.
This dress is absolutely my style. That is because I love fun and unique pieces (and this dress is definitely not something you can find just anywhere), but also because it gives off this happy-go-lucky vibe, which I love. I can’t imagine how anyone could look sad wearing this dress. What I can imagine is a girl in this dress who wants to share her happiness with the entire world, a girl who’s artistic and creative and has big dreams, someone who is idealistic and wants to help.
If I were as lucky as to win this dress, I would wear it all the time. Thank you for hosting this giveaway
